Day 2/30: Classics

Monday, June 13, 2011

To me, nothing screams classic more than wearing black and pearls. It's a tried and true timeless combo -- one that I like to wear on my "fat" days every month for that slimming effect, lol. Taking cues from Khatu's PFC #7, I paired a black top with a black skirt for a faux-LBD look. I would've kept the overall look simple with one strand of pearls, but that isn't a piece of jewelry I own... so on goes the multi-strand pile. What items do you turn to for a classic look?

cardigan: Old Navy (similar)

  1. Strangely enough, I don't have a pearl necklace. Maybe should look out for one but I gravitate more to edgy jewelry. Classics would prob be black dress, tailored pants, pencil skirt....the more I think, I'm realizing I don't really have a "classic" pieces. Uh oh.

  9. Black, pearls and cardigans, a few of my favorite things. :) I was fooled by the skirt & shirt combo, actually thought it was a LBD! Love the classic look, especially the strings of pearls.

  19. You always look super classy, so I don't think this is really a stretch for you ;)

I love the fake-LBD look, a lot. I have a gray A-line dress tha I love. That usually ends up being the dress that gets the pearl treatment...
